About The Mood Bank

The Creation of The Mood Bank:

The selection of music: Hundreds of classical pieces (composed ~ 1550-1790) were listened to and identified, subjectively, as to the mood it seems to create.

The recording: The pieces were recorded on a keyboard, with settings that seemed compatible to the mood.   Like keys were grouped together, when possible, to maximize smooth transitions.

Using the CD:

Most of the CDs have four segments, about 12-15 minutes each.   This allows for personal choice in listening for short periods of time or selecting a particular segment.   The written material in the CD insert contains strategies, information, and useful ideas for creating the specific mood or self-improvement, as used in the author's profession.
It's recommended that you be intentional with your listening; that is, decide the purpose of your listening, as well as which segment you will listen to.

Each mood contains:

  • a CD of Classical music composed approximately 1550 - 1790, selected and recorded with the intention of promoting that particular mood, and
  • an insert containing strategies, tips, and educational material.
